SAD NEWS: Beryl Hickson, who was a member of the church for a large part of her life, until she moved away to be closer to her son, sadly passed away on 5th September. We send our thoughts and prayers to Tony and his family at this sad time and remember Beryl fondly.


MORE SAD NEWS: Edith Reilly has passed away and the internment is at Southern Cemetery first and then there is a service of thanksgiving at East Didsbury on Friday 13th September at noon. We hold Edith’s family in our prayers and remember her and Geoff, her husband.

Heritage Weekend this year is on 14th and 15th September. Significant buildings in Didsbury are open to the public for a weekend.  ‘Didsbury Open Doors’ is part of the national Heritage Open Days event.  Information is provided; tours arranged and talks given by local historians. It is publicised by DCS and arranged by some of its members. Church Council: The next meeting booked for 26th September has now been cancelled and re-arranged for 9th October. Copies of the Minutes will be on the table at the back of church on 6th October.


   Whitworth Ensemble: Alice Billen & friends present ‘Concert and Cake’ - a string quartet concert at East Didsbury on Sunday 29th September at 3.00pm. Debussy, Mozart, Cole Porter and jazzy favourites. Cost £5 on the door, which includes tea & cake during the interval [under 12’s free]. Bring your friends and neighbours for an enjoyable afternoon.


Ecumenical Quiz:   This year the Quiz takes place at The Red Lion, Wilmslow Road, Withington on Tuesday 22nd October at 7.00pm. Cost per person is £8.75 to cover the cost of the buffet. Please sign the form at the back of church no later than 13th October if you would like to attend, thank you.
